Fink
Fink isn’t like most of your pretty Cocoa apps; it’s a Cocoa tool. That means there is no GUI, it’s all text driven from the terminal. Sounds lame but it is really neat. You can get it from Source Forge and even take a hack at the source. Here’s what it does; makes installing *nix apps on your Mac super easy. For example once Fink is installed you type dselect in the terminal, pick your apps hit return and watch the downloading, hit return again and boom you have them. They get installed in the /sw/bin directory so as not to mess up Apple’s stuff. I have installed a bunch of stuff from C code fomatters, to MySQL to Lynx.
