Logitech Cordless Duo MX
My first two button mouse was a Logitech. Although it was not glamorous, it was rock-solid in form and functionality. Now, at the top of its game, Logitech matches elegance with technology in its new Cordless Duo MX.
The Cordless Duo MX is a match-up of Logitech’s Elite cordless keyboard and MX 700 cordless mouse. Both work together from the same base station with doubles as a charger for the mouse (the MX 700 is an optical mouse, which have a hefty power requirement. The keyboard uses conventional AA’s). Both are stewarded by the Logitech Control Center preference pane, which not only lets you customize all of your button actions, but also indicates the charge level of both sets of batteries.

The keyboard has a wealth of custom buttons but isn’t much larger than the Apple Pro Keyboard. Especially convenient are the scroll, back and forward web browsing controls that will save you a trip to the mouse. Also, a media control area, configured by default to iTunes will launch your media program and give you forward, next, pause, play and stop control. Other custom buttons default to your home folder, email client etc.
The mouse comes with 8 configurable buttons but isn’t the cumbersome mess most multi-function mice are. Instead it fits perfectly to your hand, with the buttons integrated naturally into the body. The right and left click buttons are so smooth there is not visible hinge or seam. The mouse runs about a week per charge under normal use, and charges in a few hours.
The Cordless MX Duo will change your Mac computing experience, and is a must-have for any power system. Consider this: You will pay nearly as much for a replacement Apple Pro Mouse or Keyboard as you will for this combined set. That is a no-brainer.
