PageSender
PageSender is unique. In any application that can print, you can have it send
what would be printed in PDF form to anyone you want via email or fax. It does
all the dirty work – make the PDF, and send the email. All you have to
do is type in the receiving addy into the print dialogue box and pow you are
done. It only works on OS X but then again so does everything new that’s coming
out. Here’s what I like, followed by what’s a little weak:
Like:
- Works as advertised
- Quick as anything. Just hit print, type an email addy and you’re set.
- Ties in with your address book
- Cheap, only $20
Dislike:
- Only works with certain mail clients: Claris E-mailer, Eudora, Mail, Microsoft
Entourage,
Outlook Express and PowerMail. I’m not sure why it doesn’t tie in with Sendmail
(a Unix email application) that is installed on every OS X machine. Maybe
that will be added in the future. - Doesn’t work inside of Classic applications. It sounds worse than it is,
I send most of my PDF’s out of Photoshop, or some other X application, not
one of the few remaining Classic applications I use.
I haven’t tested out the Fax feature since I am not an eFax Plus subscriber
(you have to be one to be able to fax) but then again I never fax anyone
so I’m not missing out. If this is something you do, it will probably just make
this a must have. You’re welcome to add your review of the fax features below.
