How do you feel on Microsoft’s choice to end IE for Mac OS?
As you have all heard, Microsoft has put a halt to the development of Internet Explorer for Mac OS. With IE being (yes, I know some will disagree) an integral part in web development, this may leave the Mac community at (and again, I know some will disagree) a disadvantage. The reason being, without IE, we have no way of knowing what our pages will look like on IE (a very popular browser in the PC world). Now, granted, IE is still around, but that doesn’t mean that the app can’t be broken by a major OS release (IOW, Panther). The topic question is, how do you feel on Microsoft’s choice to end IE for Mac OS? This has all ready been put through a survey, but given the time, it bears another discussion.
Please, read more for info on the hard-working Mac developers at Microsoft.
Keep in mind, the Mac developers at Microsoft do not work out of Bill Gates’ pocket. MacBU is working on about 5 Macs. Pretty much the same that Camino is working on, but MacBU is expected to make a better product. And this is 5 Macs to MacBU, not just IE. 5 Macs between IE, MS Office, MSN, and Window’s Media Player for Mac. They try to make Microsoft work for us, and I respect them for their quality work with limited resources, loyalty, and determination to a community that would otherwise reject them entirely.
