Free online help not as available as it once was…

In an announcement made yesterday, the troubleshooting gurus at MacFixIt have put decided to put a price on their extensive archive of bug fixes and workarounds.
Many may feel outraged at such a developement — I did. But if you think of how much valuable information thay have provided the Mac community for free for so many years and how they continue to stay on top of every report of computer malfunction no matter how insignificant, charging a small subscription fee seems more than fair and one may wonder how they could provide this service for free for as long as they have.

MacMerc.com relaunches and hands over power to its members and PHPNuke

We at MacMerc.com decided a few months back that HTML sucks… that a single user, static state, blinding-blue colored, Blogger-powered site simply would not do any longer. Blogger served its time, and it served well, but we started getting more and more hits but it was time to go to the next level…
We did some investigating and found PHPNuke, a FREE web publishing system centered around PHP and MySQL. It really kicks! It’s the BMW of free web software, encompassing most of the features of Slashdot but remaining more customizable and faster.

Yup that means MacMerc.com joins the ranks of user registration, customized, dynamic sites!

Please help us to make this new era in MacMerc’s history one of enormous growth and strength by getting involved and posting your favorite links, writing reviews and passing along bits of news about the jobs we do using the computer platform we love.
Note:

We’re back, baby!

After a brief hiccup, PHPNuke is back and ready for action. Anyone who had previously registered an account should do so again.
