Unsanity Releases Chat Transcript Manager 1.0

iChat Encryption in 10.4.3… iChat Decryption in 10.4.4?

The Unofficial Apple Weblog brings us a tale of woe that followed the author’s update to 10.4.3 this afternoon. Apparently, after installing 10.4.3, iChat made it known that it could now automatically encrypt text, audio, and video chats with other .Mac subscribers who are also encrypting. But upon the very first such chat, the author was told “Unable to decrypt message.” Maybe that’s coming in the 10.4.4 update.

Instant Voodoo Magic looking for beta testers for ChatStream

ChatStream is a time-based iChat log viewer that allows you to quickly find relevant chat messages by its participants, content, and whether or not URLs are embedded in them. I am currently looking for a limited set of qualified beta testers.
Beta testers should:

  • Use text-based chat a lot
  • Have reason to visit their logs on a periodic basis
  • Run Panther or later
  • Have access to a range of machines, or have a particular machine
    with the performance characteristics that I’m interested in

  • Use iChat (although plugins for Fire and Adium are on their way)
  • Have had iChat logging turned on for a while so as to work with a good data set
  • Are willing to take a survey at the end of the beta period in return
    for a free 1.0 license
