MacMerc.com’s second iChat event with freebies in Palo Alto Store

In anticipation of the 8pm release of the latest update to Mac OS X, code named Panther, we will be holding this weeks second iChat event. Start-up iChat and go under File and choose Go to chat… and enter MacMerc in the field that pops up.
Rick “RickMacMerc” Yaeger is spending the some of the last hours of his last day in the San Francisco Bay area at the Apple Store chatting and iChatting. If you’re in the area, stop by the store and look for the guy in the loud flaming bowling shirt. Be one of the first 3 to find him and you’ll get one of the last three MacMerc.com caps.

RickMacMerc iChats from the set of the Screen Savers

As part of my whirlwind tour of the San Francisco Bay area, today and drop in on the good folks at TechTV’s The Screen Savers and iChat live from the Laz-E-Boy. Come join me in iChat room “MacMerc” (works for all AIM clients) and let’s talk about the show, the personalities and the new iBooks. New chat rooms will be opened as the need arises so don’t fret if you can’t get in, just come back here and watch for updates on open rooms.

Chat is currently going on. Please join! Thanks to all those who came. It was a blast.

Apple Puts the Eye in IM

In the latest issue of Fortune (came to MacMerc HQ today) there is a very good article on the iSight. Like most articles lately, it praises Apple’s design skills and ease of use. It also notes that Apple’s market share “remains disproportionately small compared with the large impact it is having on the computer industry”.
