With the advent of iChat AV Mac enthusiasts are looking to find people to try out the new technology. dotmac.info members can post their chat names and capabilities (video, audio, text), so that other users from around the world can more easily find someone to chat with.

A week ago Apple posted a public beta of its new iChat A/V software. We want to know if you’ve used it, and what you thought. A lot of people have downloaded it, but few people have the equipment for full fledged video (most cases you need a G4, FireWire cam, and broadband). Be sure to vote in the poll, and comment.

During the Keynote this morning iChat A/V was shown. It (as you migh suspect) includes both audio and video. The public beta is available now, and is a free download. The camera that Apple launched called the iSight should be available at your local Apple store within a few days.
