Suitcase Fusion 12.1.6 includes stability fixes

suitcaseFont management continues to be akin to voodoo and, for anyone who has a large library of fonts, a more robust solution for activation than Apple’s Font Book is a must. My personal choice happens to be Extensis Suitcase Fusion. It’s not one of those applications that I rave about and it’s not one that I use grudgingly; it’s kind of in the middle ground somewhere.

Extensis has recently issued an update to Suitcase Fusion, bringing it to version 12.1.6. The update includes:

  • stability improvements including overall enhancements to font-adding and corruption checking.

  • plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe InDesign CS3
  • stability enhancements based directly on feedback from users
  • a fix for an issue in 12.1.5 where the “show missing fonts” dialog was displayed at startup under certain conditions

The update is free for registered users. Extensis Suitcase Fusion sells for USD$99.95.

Note:

Extensis launches online forum discussion site

I’d like to think the following announcement had something to do with the recent discussion in our own Forums regarding font activation software. But I must concede that it is more likely that Extensis (the maker of the font activation and organization utility, Suitcae Fusion) realizes that the internet is indeed a conversation and the best way to be in on the discussion taking place about their own software is to host it and facilitate it.

Extensis today officially launched its new online forums site for open discussion on all things related to Extensis and its product lines. Community members are encouraged to post tips, tricks, questions and general discussion on font and digital asset management markets.

Bravo, Extensis. Let’s hope this forum serves as a place for users to freely express all aspects of Extensis’ software that concern them… the good and the bad.
