Markzware releases free Flightcheck Professional 6.02 update
Markzware has announced the release of FlightCheck Professional v6.02. Listed are some of the features and enhancements in this update:
- Modified QuarkXPress reader which will handle certain files previously listed unrecognized or locked
- Improved initial scan time for certain PDF files
- A progress bar has been added to the page layout window
- Colors are now reported as used in Illustrator CS3 files (.ai and .eps files)
- Colors are now reported when the .ai or .eps files have been placed into an InDesign CS3 or QuarkXPress 7 page
- Improved image reporting for Illustrator files that use the same image more than once in a file
- Improved Applescript support
- FlightCheck will report and collect anchored graphics used in InDesign CS2 & CS3 documents
FlightCheck Professional v6.02 is a free update available for immediate download or on CD-ROM for registered users of previous versions of FlightCheck Professional v6.0. FlightCheck Professional sells for USD$499.

Markzware has released a preview of FlightCheck beta. FlightCheck 6′s new features include a refined interface, QuarkXPress 7 compatibility, support for third-party font applications, automatic font and image subfolder creation, enhanced font and image searching, and PDF preflighting.
The public beta of FlightCheck Professional v6 is available immediately and is preview software for use on a trial basis for a limited time. Markzware welcomes user feedback.

Markzware announces MarkzTools 7
Markzware, the leading developer of preflighting, data extraction and conversion software, announces the release of MarkzTools 7 for Mac that works with QuarkXPress 7.

Markzware releases update to Q2ID (QuarkXPress 7 to InDesign)
Markzware has announced the immediate release of the an update for Q2ID (QuarkXPress To Adobe InDesign). This is an Adobe InDesign plug-in and requires an installed and supported version of Adobe InDesign v3 (CS) or v4 (CS2) prior to installing Q2ID. This plug-in enables QuarkXPress files of any version to be converted for use with InDesign CS or CS2. Q2ID [v2] is a one-stop solution to simply import into a InDesign file with the majority of the original QuarkXPress features and settings intact.
Q2ID [v2] will convert QuarkXPress documents that were created on either the Macintosh or Windows platforms. Some of the items that Q2ID will convert into InDesign formatted documents include fonts and style sheets; linked images and graphics, color blends, linked and anchored text boxes, CMYK specifications, Pantone selections and other color models and page positioning.
The upgrade will cost existing users of Q2ID USD$99.00 while first-time users can buy the latest version for USD$199.00. Multi-user licenses are also available.

Markzware Announces InDesign to QuarkXPress 7 (ID2Q)
Markzware, developer of preflighting, data extraction and conversion software, has announced the immediate availability of the conversion utility ID2Q7, InDesign To QuarkXPress for versions 6.x through 7.
ID2Q7 is an XTension that easily and effectively converts Adobe InDesign files (v1.5 through 4.x) into QuarkXPress v6.x or 7 documents with a single click. The conversion process includes elements of the documents such as object positions, colors, fonts, text attributes, images, etc. Additionally, ID2Q also converts between cross-platform files; for instance converting PC InDesign files to Mac QuarkXPress and vice versa.
ID2Q7 sells for USD$199 and is currently available for Mac users only.

Markzware has announced the immediate availability of FlightCheck Professional v5.8. This update has expanded PDF checking based upon the Ghent PDF Workgroup’s (GWG) PDF/X PLUS specification. The GWG has established best practice specifications for the production and preflighting of PDF files for a variety of specialist applications. Now, FlightCheck comes with built-in Ground Controls that validate PDFs to the GWG specifications for more secure and productive digital workflows.

Extensis has sent out a final reminder that access to PrintReady and Preflight Online servers will discontinue on December 31, 2004. Extensis has long since ceased accepting new sales or maintenance renewals for these products. Markzware, on the other hand, has announced its StayReady program which was designed to help former users of the PrintReady transition to its FlightCheck Online solution.
