Stupid Newton tricks

Apple’s Newton is a great example of a well made gadget. Even though they’ve been KIA for many years, Mac-geeks are still making them do new and cool stuff. Seven Frank of Panic Software fame has his Newton checking his Mac.com email via a wireless GPRS connection fed by his Sony Ericsson P800. Why? Because he can. We salute you Steven!

Note:Make sure you check out the picture of his setup… It’s great.

Thanks in no small part to Grant Hutchinson from Newted Community, CJ Chiarizia and “Digital Bill” Douthett, I am able to make this post wirelessly via my Apple Newton MessagePad 2100. This device, which was discontinued in 1998 by Apple shortly after the return of Steve Jobs, still has a strong devoted following and continues to keep up with the times in many respects. Here’s hoping there’s as cool a PDA in Apple’s future as there is in its past.
Every experiment has its risks. Sorry, for the multiple posts. icon biggrin The Newton Lives! RickMacMerc posts from his MessagePad 2100
