Griffin redoes the dock with TuneCenter… and splits the audio with SmartShare
Griffin Technology today announced TuneCenter docking and charging station for iPods, the most advanced iPod dock in existence. Attach TuneCenter to your television and stereo for viewing photos, watching video, listening to your iPod music library or internet radio. With the included 14 button remote, TuneCenter turns your iPod into a complete Home Media Center. Just dock the iPod into TuneCenter, and let the entertainment begin.
The feature that sets the TuneCenter apart from other third party docks is its ability to display iPod playlists and song information on your TV screen. TuneCenter takes music sharing to a whole new level: now the whole room can see at a glance the song title, artist, album and progress of the current song. Pretty sweet.
TuneCenter works with all dock connecting iPods even as far back as the 3G model with those four goofy red-backlit buttons. And the TuneCenter is priced at USD$99.99, and it is scheduled to begin shipping in March. Pre-orders are being accepted.
Griffin has also produced a headphone splitter with volume control they call the SmartShare that will sell for USD$19.99 and will begin shipping in February.
