HD movies available for purchase in the US iTunes Store? I say it’s a mistake.
I’m looking at this in disbelief, mainly because I’m in Canada and can’t download movies from the US iTunes Store, but it would seem from the menu for Iron Man that HD movies may be available for purchase. Reports in the comments at Apple TV Junkie where I first read the story indicate that the file size of the downloaded video is not big enough to be HD and that the addition of the HD bug beside the “buy movie” link is nothing more than a slip up. Frak.
UPDATE (01/19/09 – 08:12 PT): This mistake has now been fixed…so much for the dream of downloading HD movies for my collection.
