Griffin Ships iTrip Auto for iPod…DLO likely to add item to its lawsuit

75567574 7f12cd7ac2 m Griffin Ships iTrip Auto for iPod...DLO likely to add item to its lawsuitGriffin Technology today announced iTrip Auto, a new addition to its iTrip product lineup that sends your iPod’s audio content to your car FM tuner so you can listen to your iPod on your car’s built-in stereo. The iTrip Auto is built to accommodate every dock connector iPod, including iPod nano and 5th Generation iPods with video and combines Griffin’s FM transmitter technology with an integrated charger.

If you remember, last week, it was the combination of FM transmitter and charger that raised Digital Life Outfitter’s ire and got Griffin named in a patent infringement lawsuit for its RoadTrip device. Expect action to be taken against this product also.

iTrip Auto is priced at USD$69.99, and is available now… possibly for a limited time.

The iPod gets some wood

68891845 95100a1810 m The iPod gets some woodWe discovered both of these gadgets on Treehugger and both are, appropriately, made of the ultra-natural, prehistoric substance we call “wood”. The first is a custom wooden iPod case offered by Peter Kinne Design that features padded insides, an intergrated belt clip, a data port, a positive-lock closure as well as stainless steel salvaged from old bikes. (I did mention the story came from a site called “Treehugger”)

The case is available for iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod photo and 3rd 4th and 5th Generation iPods for USD$45 (the nano case goes for USD$35). 1st and 2nd Generation iPod cases can be ordered by special email request.

These earphones, made by the Tokyo based Amanada, are indeed made with bamboo and feature an “ear hanger” design that allows for a custom-fit around the users ears. As Treehugger notes, it doesn’t look like they’re available outside of Japan, but can be purchased for 12,000 yen if you find yourself in the neighborhood.
