DockStar shoots to your Menu bar with unread mail and to do reminders
One of my favorite Mail.app add-ons, DockStar, got an update today that adds the option to show new or unread mail indicators in the Menu bar. Under Leopard, this new feature can also be used to add indicator badges for RSS, Notes and To Do mailboxes.
DockStar is a cool, inexpensive Mail.app add-on that allows you to add more of those little indicator badges to Mail’s Dock icon telling you how many new messages have been received in specific mailboxes. This comes in handy if you check multiple accounts with Mail.app or if you have Rules programed that move new mail to mailboxes when certain criteria are met–now you can know when that Rule has caught something in its filter!
For those who don’t want their RSS feeds cluttering their unread mail tally, RSS feeds can now be excluded from the Total Unread calculation with the new update. Alterations to the DockStar Dashboard widget add the ability to go directly to a mailbox by clicking on the indicator badge associated with it.
Other enhancements include a new badge shape and improved support for Smart Mailboxes in Leopard.
DockStar sells for USD$9.95.
