iWeb 2.0.3 update released. Yesterday’s Pages 3.0.2 update somewhat explained.

numbers 20080130 200404 iWeb 2.0.3 update released. Yesterdays Pages 3.0.2 update somewhat explained.Similar to yesterday’s iWork ’08 “compatibility and performance” updates, Apple today issued a “compatibility” update to iWeb bringing it up to version 2.0.3. Again, no details on what’s been fixed.

Maybe tomorrow MacFixIt will shed some light on the changes to iWeb as the did today with Pages. According to this post, yesterday’s Pages 3.0.2 update fixed an annoying issue with the page layout application not recognizing the properly installed Helvetica fonts it requires. Evidently the Numbers 1.0.2 update didn’t address a similar bug in its programming as, upon opening the app, I am greeted by the same old error message as before.

Note:

MacBook Air shipping. That Apple TV update Jobs promised? Not quite yet.

I usually don’t bother reporting when products ship. I really don’t feel it’s all that interesting unless you actually pre-ordered that particular product and, in that case, you were probably already notified. This time, I decided I would write a little something because the press release announcing the shipping of Apple’s new MacBook Air came with a little unrelated bad news as counterbalance.

Good News: MacBook Air is shipping.

Bad News: The promised update for Apple TV isn’t… at least not yet.

The new Apple TV software will be available as a free automatic download to all Apple TV customers within two weeks.

Note:

The Apple color picker just got ”kuler”

cocoakuler 20080122 210000 The Apple color picker just got kulerThe soon to be renamed CocoaKuler enables Mac OS X apps to explore and find color themes via the Apple color picker using Adobe’s kuler online community all in Cover Flow-like style. The color picker plug-in works with any app that supports OS X’s built-in color picker system (including Photoshop–just choose the Apple color picker in the app’s General Preferences).

The reason for the imminent name change is twofold: 1) the plug-in works with more than just Cocoa apps and 2) Kuler is spelled with a lowercase “k”.

Whatever you call it, the plug-in is currently in beta so it’s still free.
