This year, April Fools Day (aka Apple’s 30th Anniversary) falls on a Saturday and since most of our readers pick up MacMerc.com at work during the week, and since the workplace is often the best environment for pranks of a technical nature, we’re going to let you in on this year’s gag a few days early.

The Mac web has been speculating about what Apple will do to commemorate their 30th year in business. No media event has been announced for Saturday and nothing but the auspicious date indicates that anything special will happen on April 1st this year. But given the fact that Apple’s last few media events have been contrary to expectations and that they have been marked by odd and overpriced products, anything that might be announced on Saturday could very well stretch the boundaries of what one might want or expect from Apple.
