Nate Piekos from Blambot.com has released his free font for May: Samurai Cab Co. As Nate says, “This is one of those instances when I needed a specific look for a comic — the setting was a futuristic anime world and I needed to letter the side of a hover-cab.” and so, out of necessity the font was born. And now, it is availabe to you in Regular and Outline in TrueType, Postscript 1 and OpenType.

Setting our time circuits to “last week” when I should have posted this story, we meet up with Ryan Brandys who has built a “carputer” with a difference–he’s installed his Mac mini into a DeLorean. It features a remote actuated hood upon which the custom mounted Mac mini’s video readout is projected at 37″ allowing Branys to use Front Row to turn his car into a mobile media center. It doesn’t go back in time, but with the big screen under the hood and the audio system cranking in the cab, he’s got a drive-in movie set to play the entire Back to the Future trilogy wherever he goes.
