Apple claims MacBook SMC Firmware Update 1.1 cures random shutdowns

Application of the MacBook System Management Controller Update Apple released today is said to improve the MacBook’s internal monitoring system and address the notebook’s infamous “unexpected shutdown syndrome.” You should be aware though that if your MacBook is still running Mac OS X 10.4.6, you won’t be able to install the SMC Update until you update to Mac OS X 10.4.8.
Apple recommends this update for all MacBook systems, including those that received warranty repair.
