Red Sweater releases MarsEdit 1.2

marsedit 20070606 204131 Red Sweater releases MarsEdit 1.2Red Sweater Software has announced an update to MarsEdit, the popular weblog publishing software. MarsEdit 1.2 adds support for Growl notifications, image uploading to the Picasa web service, and support for Vox weblogs.

“Since taking over development of MarsEdit three months ago, users have provided a lot of great feedback,” said Daniel Jalkut, founder of Red Sweater Software. “They’ve told me exactly what they want, and this release is a major step toward providing that.”

Blogging software MarsEdit changes hands

Daniel Jalkut of Red Sweater Software informed us today that the company announced today that it has acquired MarsEdit, the popular weblog publishing software, from NewsGator Technologies, Inc. The acquisition promises an exciting future for the application, which provides an intuitive, email-like interface to the web’s most popular publishing systems.

“I’ve already sent a bunch of feature requests to Daniel,” said Brent Simmons, MarsEdit’s original developer. “I use the app every day, and love it, and I’m so glad that it has a bright future. I look forward to being a MarsEdit user, to seeing what cool stuff Daniel does.”

Red Sweater Software will continue to offer existing MarsEdit customers free upgrades for all 1.x releases of the product.
