Attack of the Firefox Clones

For many Mac users, Firefox is the browser of choice. Extensions make it one of the most flexible applications on the Mac. The only thing better that Firefox is more than one Firefox.

Thanks to the ‘Fox’s Open Source, clones of Firefox abound. With support for the same extensions, these applications make great dedicated or specialized browsers. Join me for this week’s Freeloader Friday to meet the clones.

Security Update (QuickTime 7.1.6 for Mac) improves the security of QuickTime 7.1.6 by squashing a very serious bug that and can be exploited through any Java-enabled browser with QuickTime installed, including Firefox and Safari.

On the brighter, happier side, the iTunes update will allow you to preview and purchase iTunes Plus music. You know, that new higher-quality, DRM-free music that Apple announced last month.
