firmware upgrade

Hardmac.com shows Core Duo-based MacBook owners how to go 802.11n

I have to admit I was a little miffed that Core 2 Duo MacBook users are able to upgrade to the latest wireless network standard with a simple firmware upgrade. I was further annoyed at how these second generation Intel Mac owners whined about the minimal price they were asked to pay for this upgrade. Now I can grouse with the rest of them because Hardmac.com (Macbidouille for you Francophones) has the scoop on how older Intel Mac users can get in on the n action.

Sony adds RSS Podcast support to PSP

Spotted at MEMAP.ORG, “Sony has quietly released a new firmware upgrade (version 2.60) that adds WMA audio support, improvements to the web browser, a new RSS Channel menu item and support for streaming audio and video. Being a PSP owner I was excited because I thought the RSS Channel support would allow me to read my RSS feeds on the go, which wasn’t the case. The new RSS Channel support streams media items attached to an RSS feed, thus adding audio and video Podcast subscription support to the PSP. RSS Channel media only streams across the PSP’s wireless connection, instead of downloading and saving the content.”
