Universal Binary versions of TechTool Protege and DiskStudio announced

242131275 7888255496 m Universal Binary versions of TechTool Protege and DiskStudio announcedMicromat today announced the release of updates for both TechTool Protege (a bootable FireWire flash drive that contains both TechTool Pro 4 and DiskStudio) and DiskStudio (a disk partitioning utility). These updates provide Universal Binary support for both products so that they can be used on either Intel or PowerPC-based Macs. All of the features that were previously available for PowerPC-based Macs will now be available for Intel-based Macs as well.

TechTool Protege and DiskStudio can be ordered through select dealers and resellers worldwide or directly from Micromat. The retail price for TechTool Protege is USD$229. DiskStudio is USD$49. Current owners of TechTool Protege may purchase the TechTool Protege CD Update from Micromat for USD$25. Current owners of DiskStudio may purchase a DVD upgrade for the same price

The Bio USB Flash Drive, which features the Atmel FingerChip Sensor, also includes the built-in capability of generating a One-Time Password from a fingerprint match.

Because no software is required to run on the host PC, FingerGear’s Bio USB is truly portable and cross platform compatible among Windows, Macintosh, and Linux machines that have a standard USB port. The onboard LCD display screen guides the user through Setup mode in which the user trains the device to recognize his or her finger. In addition, a push button on the device enables the user to enter into other modes including Add User, Delete User, and One-Time Password Generation. Up to 5 additional users may be added per device.
