DockDoctor, DeskLickr, DockLock… say that 10 times fast

DeskLickr 20080107 201318 DockDoctor, DeskLickr, DockLock... say that 10 times fastAs a break from all the CES iPod gadgetry overload you may be feeling, I thought I’d post a few simple apps that might brighten your day.

The first is DockDoctor. I’ve recommended this before but it’s even better now. DockDoctor allows you to change your Leopard Dock dimensions, colors and whether it is 2D or 3D. If you like, you can even “theme” your Dock. It’s still Free (donations accepted), as is the widget version that is also available.

Next, DeskLickr, is a Menu Bar item that grabs Desktop images from Flickr profiles or tags of your choice. There is also a DeskLickr group with hand selected Desktop images. DeskLickr is also Free (donations accepted).

Lastly, we have DockLock–another Free one (donations accepted)–this one is for dolts like me who keep dragging icons out of their Dock accidentally. It locks down your Dock to protect you from yourself.

Ellipsis Productions releases TuneTagger 1.0

427669182 a90d94fe03 m Ellipsis Productions releases TuneTagger 1.0Today Ellipsis Productions released TuneTagger 1.0. TuneTagger is a new application that takes the work out of tagging your music.

As you play songs through iTunes, TuneTagger automatically grabs the info you have in iTunes and searches on the internet for complete song information. It uses official information from the CDDB database, and it even grabs high-quality album art and song lyrics. Once it gathers all the information it can find, TuneTagger pops up a panel, and all you have to do is approve the information; TuneTagger will then transfer the info to iTunes, without you having to do any of the work.

TuneTagger is distributed as shareware, and can be tried free of charge before purchase (USD$17).
