More defective results from the iTunes Podcast Top Subscritions list

34211982 6841d76fc6 m More defective results from the iTunes Podcast Top Subscritions listPreviously we reported on how it is possible to sway the results of the iTunes Podcast Top 100 and how the folks at Diggnation were momentarily disciplined for exploiting this flaw. Today we noticed evidence of another bug.

A quick glance at the sidebar on the US iTunes Music Store’s Podcast page will show that the program brought to you by “the internet’s leading Harry Potter fan resource” is in the lead.

They must be using some kind of Dark Arts spell since further investigation by clicking the Top 100 Podcasts link shows People’s Choice Award and Best Technology Podcast Award winner, this WEEK in Tech to be currently most popular.

Does it really matter who’s in the lead? Not really, I guess. But it’s just more evidence to the effect that Apple needs to put a bit more time and effort into the podcast features of iTunes.
