Inventive, Inc. announced earlier this week iClip lite 2, a free Dashboard widget for Mac OS X, based on Inventive’s productivity application, iClip. New in iClip lite 2 is automatic Clipboard recording, widget resizing, and an all-new stylish design.
iClip lite is a multiple clipboard & scrapbook widget designed to improve user efficiency and productivity for various computing tasks. It enables users to quickly store and retrieve snippets of information like text, pictures, Internet addresses and more in its multiple “clip bins”.

iClip lite is free and is available now for Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger.”

Pearson to acquire PowerSchool, Apple’s student information systems

Apple and Pearson today announced an expansion of their relationship to enhance teaching and learning through technology. Pearson will acquire PowerSchool, Apple’s award-winning student information systems (SIS) division, and develop new services for educators and students, including research-based educational content compatible with iPod, the world’s most popular digital music player.

Teachers will have access to podcasts on professional development to help with lesson preparation and provide innovative ways to reach students struggling with specific content. Students will be able to load their iPods with study guides that are aligned with Pearson texts and listen to review notes to prepare for exams.

Earlier this school year, Apple and Pearson collaborated to bring digital versions of Pearson textbooks and workbooks to California schools using the Mac mini.

iClip is a popular, award-winning multiple clipboard and scrapbook application with over 15,000 registered users worldwide. iClip enables users to quickly store, organize, and access snippets of information without having to save them as entire documents.

iClip 4 will be $29 and will run on OS X 10.3 or later. The upgrade will be free to all registered users.
