The 10.5.1 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac.

The Update’s information page is a bit more forthcoming with information and explains updates to things such as AirPort, Back to My Mac, Disk utilities, iCal, Mail, Networking, Printing, Security, Firewall, System and Finder, and Time Machine.

Possibly the most notable update reads,

Addresses a potential data loss issue when moving files across partitions in the Finder.

This sounds like the issue Tom Karpik wrote about in his blog a few weeks ago.

    • Removed the ability for the contact list to ignore exposé, fixing a number of issues with Spaces (#7862)

Doug’s AppleScripts for iTunes has released Dupin v1.0.1, the iTunes duplicates manager. Dupin is an application that assists with locating, sorting, filtering, and deleting duplicate tracks in iTunes.

With Dupin you can:

  • Quickly find all sets of duplicate iTunes tracks based on your choice of criteria
  • Select the “Keeper” tracks from among a number of duplicates automatically using a variety of versatile filtering options
  • Purge duplicate tracks from iTunes and send files to the Trash
