GameSpy Plans to Drop Mac Support?

This could certainly cause a major delay in the (so far) excellent campaign to increase the Mac’s reputation and credibility as a gaming platform. “[GameSpy] is the most popular player matching service on the PC, [and] allows gamers to join into thousands of games online.” Developer Ryan Gordon, has stated that his game (America’s Army) may be significantly delayed as he no longer has a license for GameSpy’s Mac Software Development Kit. Gordon did not give a reason, but an industry source has noticed a significant increase in “the licensing fees for Mac gaming companies.” This may force future Mac games to only offer Mac-to-Mac multiplayer support. Read the Inside Mac Games article for more info.
