IDG hires Rob Griffiths, acquires MacOSXHints.com

Today IDG’s Mac Publishing LLC announced the appointment of MacOSXHints.com founder Rob Griffiths as Senior Editor at both Macworld magazine and Macworld.com, as well as its acquisition of the Mac OS X Hints web site itself. In addition to working closely with the world’s premier source of Macintosh information in print and online, Griffiths will continue in his role as editor of MacOSXHints.com.

“These past few years, I’ve come to know and trust the staff at Macworld quite well,” said Griffiths. “They’re a great group of people who believe in the Mac and their role in providing useful information to Mac users, and they understand my site and its community. Now for the first time in nearly five years, I have only one job, and I’m thrilled that I’ll be able to focus 100% of my attention on MacOSXHints and the Mac community.”

In addition to being a Contributing Editor and Mac OS X Hints columnist for Macworld magazine and founding MacOSXHints.com, Griffiths has also authored two books from O’Reilly Press, Mac OS X Hints: Jaguar Edition and Mac OS X Power Hound: Panther Edition. He has also produced an iWork training video, Inside iWork ’05, part of Magnet Media’s Digital Media Training Series.
