309202270 52f6d88946 m FireWire Depot intros CalDigit FireWireVR enclosureFireWire Depot has introduced the CalDigit FireWireVR, a new addition to its lineup of storage devices that allows for universal connectivity of FireWire 400, 800, and USB 2.0 without the need for additional cards.

The FireWireVR is equipped with 2x SATA 3Gb/s hard drives and supports RAID 0 (SPAN), 1 (MIRROR), and JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks), and lists the control for different RAID settings on the external enclosure using a simple switch on the rear of the enclosure.

The FireWireVR is available in three capacities 500GB (USD$499), 1TB (USD$999) and 1.5TB (USD$1299) and are expected to be available in mid-late December 2006.
