Iconfactory’s pixel assembly lines rolling again

After announcing a hiatus on November 12, The Iconfactory has returned to production today with all the latest gui news and promises of holiday goodies in the works. Welcome back, Iconfactory!

Note:

Hey, now I know where I’ve seen that before–it was my idea!!!

It may take me a while but I eventually do figure things out. A few weeks ago we posted news of TEN technology’s flexDock and at the time it struck me as familiar. Had this news been posted before? I was sure I’d seen something like it recently… and then I went browsing through my Flickr account and found this:

222018 f8ee32b923 m Hey, now I know where Ive seen that before it was my idea!!!

Now I remember, I made it myself from an iFlex and a PocketDock!

Note:

Google somewhat likely to provide a Mac desktop search tool

I admit that’s a pretty hedgy headline even for a rumor, but soon after the Mac web became abuzz with news of a Macintosh version of Google’s semi-controversial Windows desktop search tool, BoingBoing posted their take. Evidently, even though a Mac port is likely, Google CEO Eric Schmidt didn’t exactly make any promises at the Internet Anniversary event in Los Angeles. It seems the story may have been blown a bit out of proportion, but not so much that the claims are necessarily wrong. There’s nothing like a good mysterious rumor.
