Apple posts Aluminum PowerBook (15-inch) Battery Update v1.1

Yesterday, Apple posted Aluminum PowerBook (15-inch) Battery Update v1.1, a battery firmware update that is required for PowerBook G4 (15-inch Double-Layer SD) computers. Apple has also posted instructions on how to determine if your PowerBook requires this update (Note: Even if your PowerBook is not a 15-inch Double-Layer SD model, if you bought a replacement battery for your older PowerBook after September 2005, you may still need this update–check the site).

This firmware update is required to keep your battery life up to specification, may recover battery life in some batteries that have developed short run times, and in some cases can recover batteries that are not recognized by the system.
