Use PHP combined with Joe Hewitt’s iUI toolkit to build a Sailing Clicker like application (a remote control for a Mac and windows). The toolkit builds an iPhone-looking interface, and handles the feel of the interface. For example, as you page through a list of items, iUI sweeps from side to side, just like an iPhone application does.

Keyspan announced that updated a new firmware update is now available for its TuneView for iPod
“Users have been telling us how much they appreciate TuneView,” explained Ridenhour, president of Keyspan. “They have also contributed a variety of ideas for making TuneView even more useful.” The update increases scrolling speed, adds an ability to jump to a specified first letter within a large list (e.g. in a collection of 8,000 songs jump directly to those starting with “L”), and improves overall wake-from-sleep performance.
“Unlike other iPod remotes, TuneView can be updated by connecting it to the USB port on a PC or Mac and loading new firmware onto the remote,” explained Keyspan president Mike Ridenhour. “This provides a way to easily add new functionality to the remote.”
Released in December, Keyspan’s TuneView for iPod consists of a dock that connects an iPod to a stereo and/or TV, and an RF remote with color LCD that allows you to browse and manage iPod music and videos throughout your house. Additionally, the TuneView Dock can be used to sync an iPod with iTunes and supports English, German, French, and Spanish.
“There’s more to come,” noted Ridenhour. “We’ll continue to enhance TuneView hardware and firmware to deliver a best-in-class remote control for iPod, iTunes and more.” The TuneView for iPod sells for a suggested price of USD$179.
