Textpander to TextExpander– donationware no more
One of my favorite bits of shareware, Textpander, has been purchased by SmileOnMyMac, it is now called TextExpander and is no longer donationware — in fact it costs USD$30.
It is worth that much?
There is no denying it is an extremely useful piece of software and comparing it to Typinator 1.2 and TypeIt4Me 3 (b24), it certainly has the more robust feature set. In case you don’t already use it, TextExpander saves you time by allowing you to configure it to type the current time for you when you type “ttime” or the date when you type “ddate” or almost any formatted text or simple image when you trigger it with a user-defined bit of text. Excellent for hand coding!! But USD$30!? I dunno… I’m gonna have to think about this.
