Security Update 2007-009 and Apple MacBook/MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1

Apple has posted a few more updates that have set appropriate Dock icons a-bouncing.

Yesterday, Security Update 2007-009 was posted in three flavors: 10.5.1, 10.4.11 Universal and 10.4.11 PPC.

The 10.4.11 version improve the security of the following components:

  • IO Storage Family
  • Launch Services
  • Mail

  • Shockwave Plug-in
  • SMB
  • Spotlight
  • tcpdump
  • XQuery

The 10.5.1 version improves the security of the following components:

  • Core Foundation
  • CUPS
  • Flash Player Plug-in
  • Launch Services
  • perl
  • python
  • Quick Look
  • ruby
  • Safari
  • Samba
  • Shockwave Plug-in
  • Spin Tracer

Then, today, Apple issued an update that many Leopard using MacBook and MacBook Pro owners were waiting for. The MacBook, MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1 addresses the “dead keyboard” problem experienced on many MacBooks and MacBook Pros. The phenomenon consisted of a temporary suspension of keyboard input. If you haven’t already, you will need to update to Mac OS X 10.5.1 before installing this update.
