The Expanded iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program (REP) is over
That’s the word: Apple’s Global Service Exchange is no longer accepting claims on the Expanded iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program.
If you have one of the iBooks with a serial number falling within the range that was covered by the Repair Extension Program and it starts showing scrambled or distorted video, weird lines on the screen, an intermittent video image or full-on video freeze there may still be hope. If the machine is within three years of the original purchase date, contact Apple Customer relations and complain and you may just qualify for service.
