Why does Apple only make a one buttoned mouse?

Tech lifestyle site, Gear Live, has published an article that explains Why Apple Makes a One Buttoned Mouse and does a fine job of giving three reasons supporting Apple’s stand against modern PC convention. The piece written by “Andru” also explains up front, “Support for contextual menus…[has] been around since OS 8.6, which is now more than seven years old. Let me repeat, Apple supports multi-button mice.” but what it doesn’t cover is a fourth reason for not offering a multi-button mouse: pride.
Apple has stuck to its guns on this issue for over two decades, if they cave on it in the future, it will be because Apple will have reinvented the mouse, not because they finally figured out what the fuss over have two buttons was about or because they realized they were shortsighted in their original strategy.
