LaCie introduces some thrilling new hardware including a laser DVD labeler

LaCie announced a bunch of exciting new peripherals including storage solutions ranging from a 2TB RAID subsystem (great for video editing) to an 80GB portable hard drive designed for direct playback of multimedia files on TV.
LaCie is also offering a 1TB network disk and a new 400GB or 50GB portable mini version.

And of course, the teaser that got you here, the LightScribe direct-disc laser labeler on the d2 DVD±RW burner, a feature that allows the double layer burner to burn custom, silkscreen-quality, precise images directly onto your discs using the very same laser that burns data. Freaky cool.

WeibeTech announces 10 drive expansion system for G5 among other new products

WiebeTech announces G5Jam+, a system which allows up to a total of 10 drives to be mounted in a G5 computer. It supports six internal SATA drives and up to four external SATA drives. It’s the big brother to the original G5Jam that supports four internal SATA drives for the G5.

This is just one of 5 new storage solutions WeibeTech announced today…
In all, WeibeTech has announced the following new products:

  • UltraGB+: Bus-powered 3.5″ FireWire Enclosure

  • Super DriveDock+: 3.5″ bus-powered DriveDock connects drives without an AC adapter
  • G5Jam+:  The aforementioned system to mount up to 10 drives with expansion system for G5 computer
  • BittyDock:  Connect smallest 1.8″ Toshiba and Hitachi Drives and 1.0″ Microdrives through bus-powered USB
  • RackFire+:  Hardware-based FireWire RAID with Two Big FireWire Drive Trays in a 1U Rack Mount Enclosure
