Controls on Apple’s 3rd-Gen-iPod-Shuffle-style replacement earbuds work on most iPods
When Apple announced the new 3rd generation iPod shuffle, it moved the device’s controls to the earbud cables. The fragility of these earbuds necessitates the availability of replacements. The new replacement earbuds not only include the shuffle’s controls, but they also feature a mic for use with the iPhone.
Obviously, the mic won’t be of any use for iPod shuffle users, but will the controls work with the iPhone or any of the other current iPods?
Yes, they will…and maybe that’s a tad obvious, but I thought it was worth a mention.
Below the fold, I’ve included a simple chart of what the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic does on iPods and the iPhone.
