Faronics releases User Refresh

Faronics, makers of Deep Freeze Mac, have released User Refresh Mac 1.01. User Refresh Mac allows administrators to maintain baseline user account configurations regardless of user activity. The Home directory can be refreshed on a specified basis, producing consistent user accounts across an entire enterprise. Administrators can specify whether the accounts should refresh upon log out, after a certain amount of time, or on a specified date. User Refresh Mac allows standard users complete freedom to explore and change their Home folders without restriction, improving productivity and user experience.

User Refresh sells for USD$29.95 with volume pricing and a 30 day evaluation version available from the Faronics web site.

publicspace.net has announced version 7.3 of A Better Finder Rename. A Better Finder Rename is a comprehensive file renaming tool which transforms the tedious and time-consuming task of renaming multiple files into a simple matter of seconds.

Version 7.3 makes some interface changes designed to provide a better user experience when using the tool as a stand-alone application. publicspace.net is asking for your opinion in how ABFR should behave in its stand-alone form (namely, should the “Apply” button become the default button?) and have posted a simple questionnaire on their blog. Captain FTP 4.3 released

Xnet Communications has announced the release of Captain FTP 4.3 which is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. Also, to improve the whole user experience, Xnet have created a fun Widget fuelled by Tiger’s Dashboard and present the impressive Mac Native help guide for Captain FTP.

The New Captain FTP Widget can be used to quickly upload files to remote servers by dragging the file from the desktop to the widget. The Captain FTP Widget directly accesses the Captain FTP Address Book enabling quick connection to all remote servers.

Captain FTP is a shareware product and its license key costs USD$25. For an additional USD$15 users can purchase Upgrade Protection which entitles users to receive all upgrades and updates for free for 12 months.
