Apple Unveils Final Cut Studio

Apple today unveiled Final Cut Studio, their new HD video production suite that features Final Cut Pro 5 for DV, SD, HD and film. Final Cut Studio also includes Soundtrack Pro, Motion 2, and DVD Studio Pro 4.

Final Cut Studio will be available in May through the Apple Store, Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers for a suggested retail price of USD$1,299. Registered users from any previous version of Final Cut Pro can upgrade for USD$699. Production Suite customers can upgrade for USD$499. Wired News is reporting on School teacher George Masters’ homemade iPod ad that is quickly making the rounds on the internet. The 60 second retro looking ad shows animated iPod minis flying around to the tune of the Darling Buds’ “Tiny Machine”. According to the article, the ad displays good marketing savvy and, experts believe, that this kind of thing is going to become increasingly more common as video production becomes more accessible and people take it upon themselves to evangelize their passions.
