Widget Machine launched. First web store for Dashboard widgets
The Widget Machine was launched today as the Macintosh community’s first web store dedicated to Dashboard widgets – mini applications featured in Apple’s Mac OS X Tiger.
As of launch, the Widget Machine features two shareware widgets. VoiceNotes allows users to record, store, and playback voice notes, and is offered at an introductory price of USD$5.95. Statosphere can display vital system information including CPU and RAM usage on three easy to read dials, and costs USD$4.95.
The Widget Machine plans to release new and updated widgets, both shareware and freeware, every Wednesday. In addition, the store provides publishing, programming, and design services for interested companies and widget developers.
