As you all know, on Monday, Apple launched a new campaign of television advertisements featuring Justin Long as “a Mac” and John Hodgman as “a PC.” The ads are pretty funny… some funnier than others… well there is one that I don’t find that funny at all…

Feeling the effects of Post-Traumatic Apple Event Disorder

When Apple teased you with the promise of “fun new products,” did you have bigger things in mind than a $349 speaker dock for the iPod? Quark has announced a promotion that enables customers to purchase new QuarkXPress 6.5 licenses or upgrade existing QuarkXPress licenses to QuarkXPress 6.5 licenses now and later purchase QuarkXPress 7 for USD$79 when it releases later this year. The promotion is available through Quark resellers across the United States, Canada, and Latin America, and directly from Quark.

Both QuarkXPress upgrade and full-product boxes will contain a coupon entitling customers to upgrade their software to QuarkXPress 7 for USD$79 when QuarkXPress 7 is released. The coupon will be redeemable directly from Quark. Customers are advised to confirm with their reseller before purchasing that their copy of QuarkXPress will include the upgrade coupon.The USD$79 price tag excludes tax and any shipping costs. This promotion expires April 30, 2006.
